Faanoos 2025 – Celebrating Light, Culture, and Unity with LIFE MJD Foundation


On the evening of June 21st, 2025, the students of LIFE MJD Foundation gathered for a truly memorable celebration—Faanoos, an event that radiated the spirit of unity, cultural pride, and collective joy. This special occasion was hosted at Bandra JK Society, thoughtfully organized by the South Bombay Council in collaboration with the Aga Khan Youth and Sports Board (YSB) for South Mumbai.

A Glimpse Into the Evening

Faanoos was more than an event; it was a celebration of India’s diversity and the light that shines when communities come together. It offered a unique opportunity for students from different backgrounds to express themselves artistically, learn about each other’s cultures, and feel the collective warmth of shared celebration.

Showcasing India's Cultural Brilliance

Students from LIFE Foundation presented vibrant and energetic cultural performances that beautifully reflected the rich heritage of India. The evening featured:

  • Garba from Gujarat – full of rhythm and grace

  • Lezim from Maharashtra – a spirited showcase of traditional movement

  • Bhangra from Punjab – energetic and celebratory

  • Kathak from South India – elegant and expressive

Each performance was not just a dance but a story—told through music, movement, and deep respect for regional traditions.

Empowering Youth Through Participation

Events like Faanoos are at the heart of the LIFE MJD Foundation’s mission to empower youth not just academically, but emotionally and socially. Through dance, culture, and creative expression, our students find confidence, voice, and purpose. The opportunity to perform at such a well-organized cultural gathering gave our students the kind of exposure that builds lasting memories and life skills.
